Tell us about the Gut Feeling
听
The Gut Feeling is all about inspiring people about gut health so that they find ways to be happy and healthy. One of the ways we do this is through our monthly gut health subscription box. We deliver a box of foods, drinks and wellness items which have genuine benefits for the gut. There鈥檚 a lot of health nonsense out there on the internet, so from the very beginning I鈥檝e made sure I鈥檓 working with qualified Nutritionists and Dieitians to help curate the gut health boxes. Another aspect of the Gut Feeling I鈥檓 proud of is being able to support small local businesses, other female led business and ethnically diverse founders by including their health and wellness products in our boxes.

How did you come up with the idea for the Gut Feeling?
听
About seven years ago I had a (fairly horrific!) kidney infection. For months and months after, I was experiencing extreme bloating and not understanding what was happening. Improving my gut health was a difficult process, involving trying different diets, medications and seeing various health professionals over a long period of time. There weren鈥檛 any products on the market to help me find various snacks, foods and meal ideas to help, so I created The Gut Feeling. It鈥檚 bloomed into a growing community of lovely people improving their gut health together, with the help of our monthly gut health boxes!

What advice do you have for other female entrepreneurs looking to start a business?
听
You can do it! My top four tips would be:
1. Ask for feedback and advice
2. Know your strengths and get help or hire to cover your areas of weakness
3. Choose something you love because it won鈥檛 always be easy and you鈥檒l really need to believe in what you鈥檙e doing to get through the tough times.
4. Strongly recommend reading 鈥楾he 4 Hour Work Week鈥 by Tim Ferriss (because it鈥檚 easier than you think to start), Simon Sinek鈥檚 鈥楽tart with Why鈥 and Eric Ries鈥 鈥楾he Lean Startup鈥 (because what鈥檚 the point in building something nobody will use).
