Who are RideTandem?
RideTandem partners with local taxi, bus, and coach companies to provide affordable, reliable, and sustainable commuter services.
We help people who would otherwise be unable to get to work because there鈥檚 no public transport or their commute would be too difficult or expensive. We support businesses to reduce their carbon footprint by using shared transport instead of having workers attend sites in their own cars.
As the first, and only, B Corp Certified employee shuttle service, RideTandem is proven to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
Why did RideTandem begin?
Founded by Alex Shapland-Howes, Tatseng Chiam and Huw McLeod, RideTandem supports businesses, recruitment agencies and education providers across the UK and Germany.
Alex, our CEO, met a group of unemployed dads just outside Manchester who told him the biggest barrier to work was transport. This was the inspiration for creating an affordable, reliable, shuttle bus service.
Since that day, we鈥檝e supported thousands of people to get to work affordably, safely and reliably. Our tech-enabled service also supports schools, colleges and universities to create a dedicated transport link.
How does it work?
Passengers book for their seat on a shuttle bus via RideTandem’s easy-to-use app. Passengers and organisations can then live track the vehicle鈥檚 location on its way to the stop or worksite.
Once a passenger has booked onto a service, employers can see their details via our secure portal and live monitor boarding as passengers scan on via a QR ticket.
