About Appetite
How are all great ideas born? From a simple conversation. Frustrated with the tedious process of arranging a meal out with a group of friends, we asked the question: 鈥淪urely this should be simpler?鈥� From this, Appetite was born.
On average, adults in the UK eat out over 1.5x a week, with those in urban areas often much more. It鈥檚 a time when we catch up with friends, with family, where we laugh, we cry (when we see the bill), discover something new or seek comfort in old favs. At present, the planning of your next meal is a multi-step, multi-app, long and stressful process. From choosing the spot (factoring in tastes, location, cuisine, dietary requirements, price), to cross-referencing the reviews, to syncing social calendars, to eventually booking (just to find it鈥檚 fully booked!). We believe this process should not only be simpler but just as enjoyable and social as the meal itself.
Appetite is fast becoming the go-to-platform for organising unforgettable dining experiences:

– Easily book a table, right when you want it, all within the app thanks to our integration with OpenTable鈥檚 industry-leading booking API
We鈥檙e proud to work with the restaurant, for the restaurant. From local hidden gems, to world-renowned eateries, we help restaurants get the attention they deserve and the right people through their doors.
Our biggest challenge has been learning what we needed to do to deliver our users the experience we envisioned. Structuring the processes and hiring the right people was definitely the biggest challenge we faced, and it鈥檚 always an endeavour.
Apart from a unique UI, Appetite provides users with a platform to talk about what they really want – food and restaurants. In fact, any restaurant. We don鈥檛 focus on building our network of restaurants nor curating recommendations of what we think is good. Instead, Appetite is community-built. Our authentic crowd of food-loving users are the ones responsible for providing the genuine content, reviews and recommendations that others can engage with, right there in the app.
Dining out has always been a special occasion. We could argue that all cultures share these great moments around the table. In 5 years time, we want to be present in all continents, with Appetite providing the recipe to amazing dining experiences, anywhere in the world.
