听, the team development specialist, today announces the launch of the GTM Team Index, a new benchmark designed specifically for technology organisations, showing how they compare against industry peers and what it takes for their teams to become exceptional.
Benchmark data from the Team Index shows that only 47% of teams meet or exceed the benchmark for high-performing execution, highlighting a significant opportunity for tech organisations to improve how teams collaborate, align and deliver results.
Technology companies invest heavily in talent, technology and processes to drive growth. Yet one of the biggest drivers of performance often goes unmeasured: the speed of execution of their teams.
The GTM Team Index Fills The Missing Middle
The GTM Team Index focuses on the one factor most organisations fail to measure directly: team effectiveness.
Traditional surveys tell you how people feel about the organisation, and engagement tools reveal individual sentiment. But neither measures the performance of the team itself, despite teams being the engine room of the business, where strategy is translated into execution, customers are served and commercial results are delivered.
The GTM Team Index fills this 鈥渕issing middle鈥, providing an industry benchmark for the teams that drive organisational success.
鈥淭he challenge is that most organisations have never had a reliable benchmark for team effectiveness. We’ve measured culture. We’ve measured individuals. But we’ve largely ignored the team. We want to change that.鈥 Vicky Reddington, Amplified Group.
It enables leaders to assess teams against a maturity framework ranging from Emerging through to Exceptional, helping organisations understand what good looks like and how their teams compare. Fuelled by data from Team Speed Check assessments completed by teams around the world, the Team Index has already amassed more than 128,000 data points and continues to grow.
The long-term ambition is to build the world’s largest benchmark for team performance and establish a common language for what exceptional teams look like in technology organisations.
The launch comes at a time when technology leaders are facing unprecedented pressure. Skills shortages persist, priorities shift rapidly, AI is reshaping roles and ways of working, and teams are expected to deliver faster than ever. Despite significant investment in talent acquisition, leadership development and technology platforms, many organisations still struggle with execution.
