Why Did Journi Start?
Journi was founded by Jake Rickhuss and Carlos Esquivel, who together bring over three decades of experience in software development and digital transformation.
Having worked inside both consultancies and large enterprises, they repeatedly saw the same frustrations: slow mobilisation, junior-heavy teams, inflated costs, and plenty of glossy presentations that stopped short of real execution. Clients were often left with strategy decks and high invoices but no working systems.
Journi was born to redefine that model – a fully remote senior-lead tech firm operating across Europe, combining consultancy-level thinking with startup-level agility and hands-on senior expertise. The focus is simple: less PowerPoint, more product. We believe businesses don鈥檛 need more glossy presentations or buzzwords – they need real, working systems built by people who鈥檝e delivered before.
