OpenAI has said it is building a Jobs Platform to connect companies with workers who understand artificial intelligence. Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications at OpenAI, wrote in a blog post that the platform will use AI itself to make better matches between candidates and employers.
The company said the tool won鈥檛 just be for large businesses because it鈥檒l also help smaller firms and local governments that need AI talent. The Texas Association of Business is one of the groups planning to use it to connect thousands of employers in the state with people who can modernise their operations.
OpenAI is developing the platform with partners such as Walmart, John Deere, Boston Consulting Group, Accenture, Indeed and the Bay Area Council. The governor鈥檚 office in Delaware is also part of the work, showing how state bodies are being tied into the project.

What Is The New Certification?

Together with the hiring platform, OpenAI is introducing certifications for workers. These will cover different levels, from basic workplace use to advanced skills like prompt engineering.
Training will be available directly in ChatGPT through a Study mode. Learners can prepare for tests and complete certification without leaving the app. OpenAI said businesses can make these qualifications part of their staff training schemes.
The company has set a target of certifying 10 million Americans by 2030. Walmart has signed up as a launch partner. Its US chief executive John Furner said the retailer wants to give staff the tools to 鈥渞ewrite the playbook and shape the future of retail.鈥�

How Does This Build On OpenAI Academy?

In April, OpenAI launched the OpenAI Academy, a free online hub for people interested in learning AI. More than 2 million people have used it to join workshops, access resources and connect with learning groups.
The certification programme is meant to expand on this by giving workers a way to show proven skills. OpenAI said past retraining schemes have had mixed results, and often failed to bring better jobs or higher pay. The company said it has studied what worked and what did not, and is designing its training to meet the needs of employers more directly.
